BIG CHILI COOK OFF
Saturday I September 6 I 10AM- 5PM Buchanan Park Field | Evergreen
Evergreen’s Beloved September Tradition: Chili Cook-Off for Our Firefighters
Every September, Buchanan Park transforms into the heart of Evergreen’s community spirit with one of the most anticipated local traditions—the Annual Evergreen Firefighter Chili Cook-Off. This signature event celebrates our mountain-area volunteer firefighters while raising critical funds to support their tireless efforts in protecting our communities.
Picture it: seven hours of perfect mountain weather, the unmistakable aroma of simmering chili drifting through the park, and the energy of over 3,000 neighbors and friends coming together for one incredible cause.
What makes it so special?
✨ The Chili: Local cooks and fire departments bring their A-game, serving up pots of red, green, and everything in between. Taste, sample, and cast your vote for who you think deserves bragging rights as the ultimate chili champion.
✨ The Firefighters: The real stars of the day. These brave, dedicated men and women not only protect our homes and wildlands year-round, but they also roll up their sleeves to stir the pot—literally—proving their chili is the best in the Rockies.
✨ The Music & Entertainment: Three fantastic bands keep the crowd moving, while an energetic emcee team keeps the fun flowing.
✨ The Extras: Browse creative artist exhibitors, connect with local businesses, enjoy delicious food vendors beyond the chili (something for every palate), and grab a refreshing drink to cool things down.
✨ The Community Spirit: With 150 volunteers, dozens of sponsors, and thousands of attendees, this event embodies what makes Evergreen and Conifer so special—neighbors showing up for neighbors.
At its heart, this event is more than chili, music, and sunshine. It’s about honoring and supporting the firefighters who stand ready to protect our mountain community. Funds raised during the event go directly toward helping our volunteer fire departments continue their mission of service and safety.
So grab your friends, bring your appetite, and join us in Buchanan Park this September for a day filled with food, fun, and heartfelt appreciation for the heroes who keep our foothills safe.
